Help manufacturers solve engineering challenges, not just buy software. We're partnering with one of Australia's leading engineering technology consultancies to find an experienced Technical Sales Specialist with a strong mechanical engineering background.
This is a consultative sales role focused on helping manufacturers improve product design, engineering workflows and simulation capabilities through advanced engineering software and services.
Rather than simply selling licences, you'll work closely with engineering leaders to understand technical challenges, uncover opportunities for improvement and position solutions that deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
This role combines existing account growth with proactive new business development, giving you the opportunity to build long-term customer relationships while developing your own territory.
The Opportunity You'll become the trusted advisor for engineering and manufacturing organisations across Australia, helping customers adopt simulation technologies that improve quality, efficiency and product development.
You'll be responsible for:
- Growing an existing portfolio of engineering customers
- Developing new business across Australian manufacturing
- Running discovery meetings with engineering and operational stakeholders
- Understanding customer design and manufacturing challenges
- Working alongside technical pre-sales consultants to build solutions
- Managing your own territory, pipeline and forecasting
- Leading opportunities from initial conversation through to close
✔ A Mechanical Engineering degree or strong Mechanical Engineering background
✔ Experience selling engineering or manufacturing technology
✔ The ability to have credible conversations with engineers
✔ A consultative sales approach
✔ Experience managing both existing customers and developing new business
✔ The ability to work independently and manage their own territory
